Summary

Henry’s practice areasinclude compliance with FCPA and Chinese anti-bribery law, anti-fraudinvestigations, data privacy and security, anti-monopoly law, establishingcompliance management system, and dispute resolution.

Before joining Dentons,Henry was AP Compliance Director of Ford Motor Company responsible formonitoring and managing compliance risks under various jurisdictions, andconducting investigations and compliance reviews on unusual events.  Henry used to work in Baker & McKenzie,Herbert Smith Hills and some other domestic Chinese law firms.  Henry is able to provide clients withcomprehensive and sophisticated international advice on resolving any type ofcommercial and regulatory issues and stand ready to apply his unique skills andunderstanding of the Chinese legal and regulatory systems to produce the bestand most efficient resolution of the dispute or crisis at hand.

Henry and his teamearned his previous law firm the award of PRC Law Firm 2012 – Competition byChina Law & Practice and the award of Regulatory Compliance Award of 2014by Asian Legal Business.  Henry is theauthor of the book of the Risk Management on Commercial Bribery in China andthe Editor-in-Chief of The Compliance Reviews (www.compliance.reviews).  Due to his achievements on compliance, Henrywas invited to represent Chinese government to negotiate with other non-Chinesegovernments to draft ISO 19600 Compliance Management System – Guidelines andhelp draft Chinese national standard Compliance Management System – Guidelines.
Experience
  • Helped several Chinesestate-owned  and private enterprises setup its compliance management system;
  • Advised Baidu to designand restructure its autonomous vehicle projects including data security andintegrity;
  • Led the Smart Mobilityproject for Ford while working as its AP Compliance Director;
  • Represented some majorU.S. pharmaceutical companies in Chinese governmental investigations on briberyand made representations for and on behalf of the companies with thegovernmental agency;
  • Represented a majorU.S. company producing connectors on the investigation of the Chinesegovernment on national security and espionage;
  • Advised thewholly-owned enterprise of a major US trading company on its internal FCPAcompliance audit and anti-fraud investigations;
  • Representeddata/privacy services to Orange Connex (the JV between eBay and CITIC);
  • Provided consultationservices to VW on data/privacy issues (e.g., data cross-border transfer);
  • Provided data/privacyservices to Otis;
  • Provided self-assessmentservices to Western Digital on tiered protection of computer information system.
